Who can join?
We encourage CHPW members of all backgrounds and abilities to join an Advisory Council. Whether you’re new to CHPW or a long-time member, your unique background and lived experiences are important to us.
We are currently looking for Member Advisory Council members for these health plans:
- CHPW Medicare Advantage Dual Plan (HMO D-SNP) members
- CHPW Apple Health (Medicaid) members
- Caregivers of CHPW Dual Plan members or CHPW Apple Health members
Our goal is to reflect the diversity of our communities within each Council, across race, ethnicity, language, gender, age, disability type, gender identity, sexual orientation, and all other backgrounds.
What does an Advisory Council member do?
CHPW’s Member Advisory Council members are representatives of the communities they live in. As a part of an Advisory Council, you share your experiences, ideas, and recommendations.
These insights are then shared with decision makers to help CHPW improve the quality of care and services we provide.
Any information you share as part of the Advisory Council will not impact your access to care, your health plan benefits, or premiums.
What would be my role as a member of the Advisory Council?
- Attend virtual meetings regularly (we have 4 per year).
- Share your honest opinions and ideas to help CHPW improve.
- Participate in council meetings and listen to people in your community.
How can I participate during meetings?
- Tell us about your experiences with your health plan and with accessing care.
- Act as a voice for your community by sharing the thoughts and opinions you have heard from your friends, family, or neighbors about their experiences with health care.
- Work with other members to make Advisory Council group agreements and follow them.
What is the time commitment?
We understand life is busy. If you’re interested but worried about the time commitment, let us know. We will work with your schedule to find the best times to meet.
- We aim for Council members to commit to at least 1 year of service.
- There are 4 virtual meetings per year (1 meeting every 3 months).
- Each meeting is 2 hours long at most.
Do Council members get paid?
We value your time, expertise, and invaluable lived experiences.
As a Council member, you will receive a gift card for each Council meeting you attend.
- CHPW members: $50 gift card per session
- Caregivers of CHPW members: $25 gift card per session
