Independent Living Program for Teens
Finding your best health starts with feeling secure. The Independent Living program provides life-skill education to youth 15-18 years old, with the goal of helping you with the skills and resources for living on your own.
This program is voluntary and open to all teens who meet the requirements.
You may find services to help with:
- Daily living skills
- Education support
- Career development
- Vocational training
- Job placement services
- Up to $500 in funding toward enrichment activities related to independent living goals
Together with local community-based organizations and tribes throughout Washington, the Independent Living program helps you get the skills you need to succeed.
Youth age 15 and older are eligible if you are or were in an out-of-home placement for at least 30 days after your 15th birthday. Once determined eligible, you continue to be eligible until you turn 18.
