Apple Health

✓	Annual income is at or below Apple Health standard ($1,677/mo for single person)
✓	You live in the CHPW Apple Health coverage area
✓	You are a U.S. citizen or meet Medicaid immigration requirements

✓	You are 65 or older, or under 65 with certain disabilities
✓	You live in the CHPW Medicare Advantage coverage area
✓	Some people may qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid

What’s the difference between Apple Health (Medicaid), Medicare, and Cascade Care (Cascade Select)?

Apple Health (Medicaid)

Medicaid is a state and federal program that provides health care for people whose income is below a certain amount. Medicaid is called Apple Health in the State of Washington.

Medicare

Medicare is a federal program. Medicare provides health care to people 65 and over, as well as to people under 65 with specific disabilities.

Cascade Care
(Cascade Select)

Cascade Care plans are new, affordable health plans offered by carriers on the Washington Health Benefit Exchange. Cascade Care includes “public option” plans like CHNW Cascade Select.

What is Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW)?

CHPW is a not-for-profit health insurance plan. We work with the state to offer health care plans to Apple Health and Medicare eligible recipients. As a not-for-profit, we reinvest the money we make back into the services we provide our members and the communities we are part of. That’s why we’re able to offer excellent care, as well as many benefits not covered by Apple Health alone.
