Why Apple Health with CHPW?
We listen to you and help connect you to the care and services you need in your community. We’re made up of local, culturally responsive teams, based in Washington State, who work together to help you:
- Get health insurance and stay covered.
- Find doctors, specialists, and local support for everyday needs.
- Understand and use your health insurance benefits.
All Apple Health plans, also called managed care plans, offer the same basic health services and prescription coverage. The difference is the way they provide services, their value-added benefits like rewards, in-network providers and pharmacies, and which counties in Washington they serve.
To compare Apple Health plans, value-added benefits, and view the latest managed care report card visit Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA)’s website.
To become a CHPW member, select CHPW as your health plan in your Washington Healthplanfinder™ application.
To see if CHPW is the right plan for you, check our:
- Benefits+ programs
- Provider directory
- In-network pharmacies

Frequently asked questions
When does my coverage start?
When you apply or select a new health plan, coverage typically starts on the first day of the next month.
Each person in your family who enrolls with CHPW will get two ID cards:
- CHPW Member ID card
- ProviderOne services card from the state (Washington State Health Care Authority)
You will need to show your CHPW Member ID card and your ProviderOne services card each time you get health care. That includes medical visits, specialist visits, mental health visits, hospital visits, and when you’re ordering or filling prescriptions.
If you already have a blue ProviderOne card, it stays the same when you change health plans.
What income do I report?
Washington Healthplanfinder™ only asks for types of income needed to calculate your eligibility, like taxable income or unemployment benefits. Not all income needs to be reported. For more details, visit their website: How to Report Income
Can I still get health insurance with CHPW if I’m not eligible for Apple Health?
Yes, the same application you complete on Washington Healthplanfinder for Apple Health, will be used to see if you’re eligible for a Qualified Heath Plan like Cascade Select. If you are, you may have the option to purchase a CHPW Individual & Family Plan.
