COVID-19 Member Information

As you cope with the new coronavirus outbreak in Washington, we would like to remind you of resources and special benefits available to you as a Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) member.  You may be practicing social distancing, but you are not alone. CHPW is in close contact with your doctors, pharmacies, and other organizations you may need during this time.

Apple Health (Medicaid) Members

Customer Service is available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Make telehealth/telephone calls to your doctor first

If you’re concerned about your health, but it’s not an emergency, you can get care from your home. Many physicians, mental health providers, and even dentists are using telephone and video chats to talk with patients about their symptoms and concerns.

So if you’re worried and want medical advice: call first. That way, your regular doctor can oversee your care and point you in the right direction.

Getting medical attention

As a CHPW member, you have phone access to a nurse, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our Nurse Advice Line at 1-866-418-2920 (TTY: Dial 711) is here is answer your questions and ease your mind.

If you have symptoms like cough, fever, or shortness of breath, contact your regular doctor first. They can instruct you on the best course of care for your symptoms.

Before going to the emergency room with coronavirus symptoms, call your health care provider, or call the Emergency Room phone number.

Guidance available for people who have or think they may have COVID-19

The Washington Department of Health has these guidelines for people who think they may have COVID-19:

You can also use the online Coronavirus Assessment Tool developed by Providence and Microsoft. you’re concerned about symptoms you’re experiencing, use the Buoy for Express Scripts coronavirus symptom checker.

Get a 90-day Supply of Select Medications

Restrictions around filling a prescription too soon have been lifted for many medications.

Our members can get a 90-day supply of select medications used to treat chronic conditions (known as maintenance medications) such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and depression.

Larger supplies of prescriptions are available exclusively through Community Health Center pharmacies and select network pharmacies (preferred pharmacies). Ask your provider if any of the medications you are taking are eligible for a 90-day fill.

You may also be eligible for free home delivery of your long-term medications.

Rite Aid

Rite Aid is offering free delivery for our Apple Health members during this outbreak. To learn what your mailing options are, contact the pharmacy where you get your prescriptions filled.

Walgreens Express

Walgreens is offering home delivery of prescriptions as a temporary service to our members.

To get your prescriptions delivered through Walgreens, you must sign up with Walgreens Express. Text JoinRx to 21525. (For Spanish, text UneteRx.) When your prescription is ready, you will receive a text alert with a Walgreens Express link. Follow the link, choose delivery as your option, and confirm your address.

Walmart’s Home Delivery Service

  • Call 1-800-273-3455 and follow the automated prompts.
  • Email [email protected].
  • Mail your name, RX number, and phone number to: Walmart Home Delivery, 1025 W. Trinity Mills Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006.
  • Fax your name, RX number and phone number to: 1-800-406-8976.

Download the Walmart App to manage your prescriptions, refills, and deliveries from your phone.

Some Community Health Centers provide home delivery of your prescriptions. Check with your CHC if home delivery is available.

Emotional and Mental Support

CHPW has a large network of providers who can help you get support for your emotional and mental well-being.

To get that first appointment with a Mental Health provider, use our online provider search tool or call Customer Service at 1-800-440-1561 (TTY Relay: Dial 711). Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.

  • Find the right provider with our Provider Search Tool
  • Go to the online Find a Doctor page and click on Find a Doctor
  • Enter your zip code and select “Behavioral Health” under Provider Type.

You have the right to choose a qualified provider for your mental health or substance use care. If you’re having trouble getting in to see a provider, please contact CHPW at 1-800-440-1561 (TTY Relay: Dial 711). We’re here to help.

Staying connected is more important than ever right now. As a CHPW member, we want to remind you that you may qualify for a free cellphone, data, and minutes through the Lifeline program.

Medicare Members

Please Note: During the COVID-19 outbreak, CHPW is waiving Medicare member cost sharing (copays, deductibles and coinsurance) for covered services for COVID-19 related tests and treatments. This applies regardless of where services take place including, but is not limited to, telehealth, primary care physician visits, specialty physician visits, hospital stays, labs, home health and ambulance services.

  • ePrescribe: Ask your doctor to send your prescriptions electronically to Express Scripts Pharmacy.
  • Phone: Call 1-844-605-8168 24 hours a day (including holidays), 7 days a week to talk with us about getting your long-term medicine delivered. TTY users: 1-800-899-2114.
  • Online: Visit express-scripts.com or download our mobile app for free. You need to register with your member ID card. Follow the prompts to move your prescriptions to home delivery.

CVS

CVS is offering home delivery of prescriptions as a temporary service to our members.

  • Text:  Create a CVS account to enroll in text messages. When your prescription is ready, you will receive a text alert. Follow the link and request delivery.
  • CVS app: Download the CVS app to your phone and create an account. When your prescription is ready, you can request delivery through the app.
  • Call: You can call your local CVS pharmacy to request delivery. Please note that with this option, you may have longer than average wait times.

Rite Aid

Rite Aid is offering free delivery for our Medicaid Advantage members during this outbreak. To learn what your mailing options are, contact the pharmacy where you get your prescriptions filled.

Walgreens Express

Walgreens is offering home delivery of prescriptions as a temporary service to our members.

Emergency Silver & Fit benefits

While you’re staying home, structure like regular exercise can boost your mental and physical health. The Silver & Fit program is offering CHPW members two emergency benefits:

  • Signature Series exercise videos. Designed for all fitness levels, these popular videos will be updated frequently so you can change up your routine.
  • Fitness wearable tracker. Get set up to exercise at home with a free Fitbit or Garmin device.

Other benefits of the Silver & Fit program include personalized health coaching over the phone and home fitness kits. Call Silver & Fit at 1-877-427-4788 to get your emergency benefits and learn more about the program.

CHPW has a large network of providers who can help you get support for your emotional and mental well-being. To get that first appointment with a mental health provider, use our online provider search tool or call Customer Service toll free at 1-800-942-0247 (TTY Relay: Dial 711), 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. PST.

  • Find the right provider with our Provider Search Tool.
  • Go to the online provider search page and select Find a Doctor.
  • Enter your zip code and select “Behavioral Health” under Provider Type.
