Low-Cost Phone / Home Internet Service Through Lifeline

A phone or home internet service can make it easier to stay connected to your health care.

As a Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) Apple Health (Medicaid) member, you may qualify for low or no-cost phone or home internet service through the federal Lifeline program*. Some eligible members may also receive a no-cost phone from a participating carrier.

How it works

Steps

1. Check your eligibility
   CHPW Apple Health members may qualify for Lifeline, a federal program that helps lower the cost of phone or home internet service. See if you’re eligible at the Lifeline website.
2. Apply for the Lifeline program
   Members must apply for Lifeline and be approved before enrolling with a phone or internet provider. You can apply online at www.lifelinesupport.org. During the application, you may be asked to provide documents to confirm eligibility. Each carrier offers different plans, and availability may vary. Some carriers may provide a free phone when you enroll.
3. Choose the option that works for you
   If approved, the next step is to use your Lifeline discount and choose a cell phone/home provider (also referred as “Participating Provider”) currently participating in the Lifeline Program.
