How do I apply for Apple Health Expansion coverage?

The enrollment limit for Apple Health Expansion has been met for individuals age 19 – 64. The enrollment limit for Apple Health Expansion has been met for all age groups. Applications are still being accepted for future consideration.

If you have already applied and were denied due to the enrollment cap being met, you do not need to do anything else, as only one application is required. If you haven't applied yet, please see how to apply below.

• Age 19-64

Online: Go to Washington Healthplanfinder. Select the "Apply Now" button.

Mobile app: Download the WAPlanfinder app. Select “sign in” or “create an account”.

Phone: Call the Washington Healthplanfinder Customer Support Center at 1-855-923-4633.

• Age 65 or older

Online: Go to Washington Connection. Select "Apply Now."

Paper: Print, complete, and mail an application for aged, blind, disabled/long-term care coverage (HCA 18-005).

Phone: Request an application by calling 1-877-501-2233.

In-person: Visit your local Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) office.

In Washington state, there is a free or low-cost health insurance program called Apple Health, also known as Medicaid, for people who earn below a certain income level.

Apple Health Expansion is similar, but available with certain immigration statuses.

Apple Health Expansion is the name of a new state-wide program to provide health care coverage to people age 19 or older with certain immigration statuses and who earn below a certain income level.

  • Live in Washington and are age 19 or older.
  • Have income under 138 percent of the federal poverty level.
  • Do not qualify for other Apple Health programs based on immigration status or medical needs.
  • Are not in the 5-year waiting period to be eligible for Apple Health.
