The State of Washington will determine the official transition process to the new ASAM criteria with the transition being planned between January and July of 2025. A more definite schedule is forthcoming.

As a part of this transition, Health Care Authority (HCA) is actively developing a comprehensive plan that will include training for the updated 4th edition of the ASAM criteria.
