Lance Hunsinger appointed new CEO of CHP/CHNW
SEATTLE, WA (April 6, 2009) – Lance Hunsinger is the new Chief Executive Officer for Community Health Plan and the Community Health Network of Washington (CHP/CHNW). Hunsinger, who joins the organization on Monday, April 6, 2009, will continue to build CHP/CHNW's reputation for providing access to health care for low‐income and under‐represented populations.
Lance Hunsinger brings more than 20 years of executive experience in health care as well as experience as a director on several boards for a variety of health care and health insurance organizations. Hunsinger earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting and his MBA from the University of Baltimore, and he is a CPA.
Hunsinger has had significant experience with rapid growth organizations, turn‐arounds, start‐ups, and implementing change. His most recent position was as President and CEO of Cariten Healthcare/PHP Companies, Inc., in Knoxville, Tennessee, before the organization was sold to Humana in 2008.
Lance Hunsinger has direct experience serving the underserved population with Cariten Healthcare, which serves Medicare and Medicaid (TennCare) members, and his prior experience with Total Health Care, Inc., a staff model HMO and Community Health Center.
As CEO, Lance Hunsinger will provide comprehensive guidance and leadership to achieve the organization's operating objectives and its longer term strategic goals. He will work with the Board of Directors on the development and execution of policies and direction to achieve these goals.
