Express Scripts Offers Services in Response to Potential Breach of Personal Information
Express Scripts Inc. (ESI) is the company that manages the prescription drug benefit for Community Health Plan. ESI contacted Community Health Plan in early November about a data breach in their computer system. The breach was tied to a written threat and included personal information of 75 people.
The personal information included the Social Security numbers, addresses, and dates of birth of the 75 people. In some cases, prescription information was included.
No Community Health Plan members were named in the letter from ESI. ESI does not know about any misuse of a member’s personal information.
ESI created a web site at http://www.esisupports.com to provide information about the situation. The web site has resources to help protect against identity theft.
