General Assistance-Unemployable (GAU)
General Assistance Unemployable (GAU) is a state-funded program that provides cash and medical benefits for persons who are physically and/or mentally incapacitated and unemployable for 90 days from the date of application.
The GAU Pilot Project came as the result of a legislative mandate to provide managed care to those individuals receiving GAU, with the goal being to improve health outcomes for GAU recipients.
